The Holy Monastery of Panagia in Zidani was created and developed during the Turkish Rule. Panagia Zidaniotissa is placed in the village of Zidani. It was founded in the 17th century.
The holy icon of Panagia Zidaniotissa is one of the few heirlooms that were saved during the centuries, until the present day, after enduring many difficulties throughout the years.
The hagiographer and the creation date remain unknown. It is a fact that this icon is very old. It was silvered with heavy silver in 1755 by craftsman Theodoros. He was from Kalarytes in Ioannina, as the relevant inscription at the bottom of the icon reveals. The silvering took place during the primateship of Bishop of Servia and Kozani, Ignatios.
